A Safe Person is someone who is accountable, respects personal boundaries and doesn’t ask to keep secrets from others. Speaking to a safe adult can help a child feel listened to, protected and safe. It is very important for children to know who to call in case of an emergency, if they feel uncomfortable or if they are in danger. It is recommended that children identify at least five adults whom they can trust and who they could reach in these kind of situations.
World Hug Group is constantly looking for new ways to create awareness about child safety, this time we launched a new campaign called "Safe Person" in partnership with EduCamp. We designed a special kit that included: 1) the Safety Hand drawing (where kids can write the names and phone numbers of their safe persons), 2) Five Safe Person stickers (to be given to each Safe Person) and 3) a detailed instruction manual for parents to know how to use it.

Safe Person campaign in Mexico
As part of our global campaign, we would like to share some useful tools to promote child safety.
The Safety Hand
You can download it and print it with your kids. The goal is to have the names and phone numbers of 5 safe adults so, if the child feels unsafe, he/she can call any of all of the adults to share what is going on. |
